Over the years I’ve done gobs of disc brake jobs but I don’t ever remember seeing O-rings come with them.

On this 1984 Ramcharger, what are the four thin large diameter O-rings for and where do they go?  TIA

I kind of thought that might be the answer.

they go on the brake pads and around the caliper bracket to aid in assembly , there an assembly line thing to keep the pads from falling out during production = they do work if installed correctly

I’ve started wrenching back in the 1970s and done a grip of brakes and never have I seen rubber bands as part of a brake kit.  Learn sumpin every day!
