Does anybody know what the most backspacing you can get away with on the front of a Coronet? I really want to run 245 45R? 18s - on the front- which means an 8 or 9 inch rim up front. I have heard it is tight, but doesn't rub with the correct backspacing- any tire reps out there?

Jack the front end up.
Take the front wheels off.
Turn the steering wheel all the way right. Measure the distance between fenderwell (or other closest interference) and hub with a tapemeasure and a small square (NAPA has squares that are perfect for this for $4). Turn the wheel all the way left and repeat.
Subtract at least 1/2" from your measurement for clearance.
