find out specs on your Dana axle

your BOM # is either on the right hand tube looking at the diff cover or on the diff cover tag along with the ratio.

For most front axles:

The BOM will start with a 60 or 61 if it is a dana 60, probably 70 if dana 70, etc.

The BOM is a 6 digit number followed by a dash and another digit. The rest of the numbers, if still present, are date codes & manufacture location.

Front wheel bearing torque procedure

1. Torque to 50 LB while spinning hub
2. Back off, then torque to 35 LB for automatic, or 50 LB for manual hubs
3. Back off 3/8’s of a turn for automatic hubs, or just enough to free the bearings (1 LB) for manual hubs
4. torque front wheel-bearing outer lock nut to 160 LB
