Im looking to upgrade my 1/2 ton axles to d60's, what vehicles have the correct dimensions to bolt under my 80 TD? I know the chevy axle is 1" narrower than the dodge in the front. Will most any rear work (ford chevy dodge)?
Ford front axles are driver's side drop, so they will not work. Ford rears could work with the perches moved and rewelded. GM front axles will work with a bit of force, rears are the same as the Fords and need the perches moved. Dodge axles from any '75-'93 truck will bolt in. Axles to avoid are the '72-'74 closed knuckle D70 front that the D60 replaced and the D61 front axles in 3 speed automatic Cummins trucks with the 3.97 gears.
