Is the fuel tank holding pressure? or vacuum? Would be my only other guess... filter or venting screwed up...

Eric, don't blow the sock off the pickup. If it were plugged the problem would be there no matter how much fuel is in the tank. Also, that sock will find it's way into the pickup if he lets the fuel level get too low. I'd agree with Smokey, check the gas cap and/or the fuel return lines.

Actually he should check the fuel pressure @ the regulator and see if hte fuel pump in the tank is dying a slow death like the one in my Jetta died slowly and left my ass stranded in an ice storm one night .

I thought this was going to be a Sawzall post :(
lmfao greg, it may come to that. i was informed the next day by his girlfriend that right before it starts cutting out there is a hollow thump sound then it starts acting up.

would i be to far out of line in thinking his tank (plastic) may be collapsing? if this is the case, how hard would it be to mount a ramcharger 35 gallon metal(yes metal) tank under this dak? i just happen to have one lying around i told him he could have if it could be made to work.

thanks guys

Is the frame rails wide enough ona dak to make a 35 gal fit it ? that and u would need to make new straps to hod the tank in as well . Also i have no idea if the hole in the tank is too big i think .
