Does anyone know of any laws limiting truck height and tire size?
I doubt I will break it with my 4" lift and puny 33" tires, but just wondering if the police look for this.

LOL! Consider the law broken! ;D Last I knew the limit was 4" over stock. Thats TOTAL lift! Including tires! ;D 4" lift with 33" tires you will be at LEAST 3" over! LOL! I got 4" in mine now, gonna put 35-38" tires on and probably won't have a problem as long as I am not a jackass driving it. We got a couple trucks around here with 39" plus tires, 2 with 44's that I know of. They don't usually mess with you unless you draw attention. Dunno about where you are though. Need a hand putting it in? Give me a call if so.
The police in Fairfield County are tough. I bet I'll get stopped. I'll tell them that 33's came stock with the rig.
Thanks for the offer.
I may very well need the help.
Today I removed the gas tank and rear bumper. I need to fix the tank and replace the bumper. Tomorrow I remove the trailer hitch, but the bolts are ceased, so I'll have to heat them.
With all that stuff removed, it will make the rear spring and shock installation a little easier.
Also, without the tank and hitch, I can remove the rear shackle bolts without cutting them.

Ya but you will probably need new ones anyways. Putting the hitch back on?
Yup, the hitch goes back on. I need to paint it though.

alright when i went threw inspection in connecticut the legal hight is 27 in and the biggest tires u can run is 38.5s i just passed the hieght with 261/2 and thats with 4 in lift so u should be fine with 33s cause thats what im running
Jeremy
Last time I asked a tech at DMV it was 36 inches from the bottom of the door to the ground. A 4inch lift with 35's on a R/C would pass, but the way Roland has been going that could change at any time.

ya i know i hate that guy and guesss what its my buddies step dad hes a fucking asshole i hate him fucking rowlands a fat gay women his step sons mint
I know this is kinda late, but a friend of mine in Thompson, CT had a '79 Blazer with 4in suspension and 3in body runnin 44s.. He just recently traded the truck for a GTO so I know his sticker was within this year...
I have another question about the regulations. Anyone know if its legal to let people ride in the bed of a pickup? I'm wonderin if there's a provision for adding a seat with seatbelt back there. Because now I've got a reg. cab Dakota Sport and I wanna get some extra people carrying ability. And I have the seats/belts from my Lebaron that I could put back there.
Seats, belts and rollover protection. (cage or a body) ALL have to be "properly mounted" and inspected. ;D Or you could become a landscaper! lol They do it all the time! ;D
when did you guys have those inspections? i read through the laws before i moved here and the only rule i found in print was 4" lift max. nothing about door height or fender height. i also checked DMV regulations recently and i actually read that vehicles over 15 years old did not require inspection. ???

i'd expect the state to be consistent with its regulations but i get different information every time i check

Welcome to the confusion state! lol
Inspection USED to be required for vehicles over 10 YO, Salvaged titles, (unless it was totaled for BODYWORK ONLY) Composite (kit) cars and new constructions NOT from a factory. (ie you build a new car from scratch).
Then the emmisions snafu came in and they didn't have enough people to replace all the ones in the testing stations AND do inspections, so they dropped inspections to re-staff the emmisions stations. Now I "think" the only thing you have to get inspected is salvaged, composite and new constrution.
I DID find something a while back about headlight height, but it was based on GVW and had a minimum height that was a bit off the wall, something like 24" minimum for ALL vehicles! hmm, how many small cars have lights that high? more like 20" I think.
i noticed a big problem is that they mix in the commercial truck and bus regulations in with the passenger vehicles
ya, but that can play in your favor if you are careful, Mow lawns? plow snow?
