i pulled a wiring harness from a jy and installed it into my truck, i could get the truck started no problem using the key, however i could not shut the truck off with the key, thought maybe bad switch, (wrong) i got a universal switch with four connect points, my old switch had five, acc, start, batt, run, starter relay, the new one has acc, start, batt, ign, so other than the acc, batt, start, which wires goes where,
second i have (for most of the morning) been going through the wiring harness under the hood, and made sure (absolutely sure) that everything is as it should be, now when i turn the key off it still runs and when i jerk the neg cable it still runs so i jerked the ballest resistor wires off of it and it still runs, all the wires from the resistor, so i hit the ecm and it killed it, so what now?

check it again / all power to the coil should go thru the ballast / it might be yer ALT back feeding the coil / its the best l can think of

ok guys i found the problem, when i rewired the fuse box i placed one wire on the wrong side, switched it to the other side now everything is good to go thank you.
