I hope someone can help me understand how this works....I have a quadrajet carb laying around that I'd like to throw on my engine (stock 383 off of a '68 dodge truck). The quadrajet has a choke that seems like it's operated via a thermal coil that is heated up by exhaust gases via a manifold valve. (Do I have that right? Is that a normal setup?) Well my system doesn't have this valve so what can I do to make it work? I figure that there are kits for converting it to an electric or manual but I would like to know if I can make it work as is first.
Any thoughts....

they sell a manual choke kit for the quadrajunk that replaces the thermal coil / that or get the choke housing off a 86 to 88 360 DODGE
