My sister has a 1984 Dodge Power Ram Royal SE 4X4,318,
Automatic , My question is : Does this truck have the in dash (fire-starter) Amp gauge ?
Right now the truck is having charging issues.
replaced the alternator , VR tested good, New battery ,
Still not getting 14 v @ battery.
Any help would be appreciated.

how is the belt tension? That made all the diffrence when i had a charging problem

The old firestarter was redesigned in 1981 so you don't have that problem. Although you could always get a fire with any system. How many volts are you getting at the battery and have you made sure the VR is well grounded to the firewall?

Yeah, they replaced the firestarter with an ammeter that just doesn't work! Better than the old way though. fire....Fire....FIRE eh eh eh eh
