When changing shafts on a 9.25, you need to drive out the crosspin on the diff. I'm finding that the cross pin cant be driven far enough out to allow the shafts to move inward. How do you deal with this? Surely you don't have to remove the diff from the housing???
Help!

Thanks,
Scott

You need to push the pin out about an inch and then rotate the carier and pull the pin out towards you then you can get the c clips out

The diff won't come out until the axles are removed. I have no experience with an Auburn, but there is only one way to remove the crosspin and that's what Gmule just described.

not totally sure on an auburn, but please tell me you didnt just grab a hammer and start trying to drive this pin out.

there is a pin retaining bolt holding it in, this needs to be removed then the cross pin should slide out, then you can slide axle shafts in and remove c-clips.
