I am looking at a mid 80's ram that has been modified with headers and dual exhaust. I have not yet looked under the hood but know it to be a 318 automatic. The previous owner did not install cats. I live in a state that requires a visual inspection of all systems for licensing and eventually an emissions inspection. What things do I need to consider to make this pass inspection? I do not know what I need to bring this truck back to life but question if there is still an airpump. The cost of the truck is well under $1000.00. Just figure I am a novice when you give me information. ::)

If it is still there, look at the emissions sticker under the hood. It will tell you if it originally had an Air Pump.
