I pulled off the fiberglass top off my truck for the first time since i have owned it. To my surprise, the light on the back of the cab is gone. All that is there is a piece of rubbery black tape covering the hole. I haven't pulled the tape off yet, don't want any water getting in there. What is supposed to be there, cargo light, or a third brake light? It's a 85 crew cab dually. I believe that it was a cargo light being i have a button in the dash that says cargo light. (makes sense) Where could i find one?

Yep there shuld be a cargo light all clear no brake light powered by the switch on the dash it is probally the same as the ones used on any pickup of the same years.If the cap was installed by the dealer thy may have used some type of plug and removed the light.

i am looking for info on how to rerun wireing for my cargo light.... i put in mew bulbs but there was 2 wires comming off of mine... and only one was hooked up and it still does not work.... oh BTW this is my77 power wagon also.. clubcab any ideas

so there was a Y in the original wireing i guess..... i'll have to run my multimeter on it next time i pull the canopy and see if i have any juice to the bulbs... thanx for the diagram chump!
