I never thought about it in the past, but should I use a 4 hole gasket instead? It's all going on an intake with a center divider-dual plane. I got to thinking the vacuum ports on the bottom might respond better to a 90* flow rather than being open. What you think?

It depends on the intake. That gasket is more intended for open plenum intakes vs 4 hole intakes, just like a 4 hole spacer is vs an open hole but I've actually wondered if it still makes a difference if the plenum divider is recessed. The recess is so all 8 cylinders receive a signal at idle and helps with the mid range signal as well.
Here's an example of an open spacer a day hole spacer. This guy makes great videos, he just needs a testosterone drip to get that voice down a little lower. Hahaha!
