I just looked thru the CarFax site. It's $19.99 for a 30-day account with an unlimited number of reports. You can only get one 30 day account in a 12 month period per household. After the 30 days it's $14.99 per report...

I wouldn't trust carfax.com We know for a fact that my brother's sonoma was in atleast 1 wreck and we did a carfax report on it to see what showed up, and it didn't even show it had been in a wreck. We knew had has because the previous owner told us he wrecked it, so I wouldn't always trust them.
Carfax does not repot ALL bodywork on ALL cars and does not claim to. It discloses repaired damage that exceeds state and federal requirements for disclosure of frame damage or a total loss. We run about 1200+ Carfaxes per week and they are over 99% accurate.

So, it will only report if the car has frame damage or has been totalled?
Or hail damage or flood or any other damage that exceeds state/federal disclosure requirements or title issues. They get their information from a national insurance database & if the insurance company is not involved in a repair they have no way of knowing about it.
If a vehicle doesn't have any of the above damage, it ain't that big of a deal anyway right? I mean, if it is just cosmetic damage and it was repaired good enough for you to not see it and it's a safe car, who cares? If it's a bad body repair you don't need to pay Carfax to see it. So, they provide info that most people aren't able to determin on their own by looking at a particular car.

Hey, I ought to be gettin some $$ from Carfax for this rant! ;D
