I just sold one called a hi-lo, it lifts up with a hydrolic cylinder. when it is closed it is only about 5 ft tall, this cuts down on drag when your are pulling it. It was a very good unit you hardly knew it was behind my z71 chevy, my wife didn't want to sell it but we upgraded to a motorhome and couldn't have both. It had a shower and everything you would need and slept six. It was 20ft long and weights 4500lbs.

good luck on your hunt and have fun.

AHH!!! Hi-lo's ROCK!!! ;D How old? What did you get for it? (if I can ask) an 85 up here go for about $8000! They got a lot of parts to break/wear out, but they are a GREAT idea!!

It was an 87 funmaker, I got $4000 for it. I think I paid $4200 for it 3 years ago, don't think I came out to bad. It was a good unit never did any work on it other that the plastic tool box in rear and packing wheel bearings. It is something I would consider buying again if the motorhome doesn't work out for me. I like the fact that I can pull it with a half ton truck and not put much strain on it at all, with over 220000 miles on my truck i didn't want to hurt any more than I had to. I looked at a 25ft a while back I liked the layout better than mine, the guy pulled it with a chevy astro van and said it was no problem. As far as the parts to break down it was less to tear up than the pop up I had before. The frame is all steel so there is not much wood to rot.
Hope this helps.

I have a 8' pop up that sleeps 6 as for the shower most campgrounds have them. If We are out we just use one of those little solar shower things. of course we only go for 1-2 days max
