Any recomendations on cam selection? Looking for low end torque for towing 3,000 lb boat and light offroading, remember this is a daily driver so no radical grinds, please.

Something in the range of the XE250H for flat tappets, or VR258R-12 for roller tappets. Call CompCams. 1-800-999-0853.

Actually, a stock cam would work well for that application. They are around 375 ft lbs on the low end of the rom range, but die off quickly.

Something around 425-450 lift would work well.

Headers & a good free flowing exhaust would help a bunch too.

I'm going for somewhat the same as you... I've got the headers and mufflers, now I'm working on finding a good shop and some pipes, but I've been thinking about an rv cam to give me the mid range. I'll be pulling a 3800lb camper and thinking about pulling hills/mountains on the interstate/highway made me think of going for the mid range. I know you said low end, but it gives you something to think about.

Good luck!

www.hughesengines.com/cams/heh_guide.asp My suggestion for your application is the HE1019.
