About a month ago I undertook a brake job on the R/C. Pulled the drivers wheel off, the roter has a groove in it but did not have the courge to tackle that job so I left the rotor on and replaced the pads. Off to the passengers side and the rotor was really bad so I had no choice put to pull the hub apart, and do the rotor. That was not as bad I thought it would have been so I will do the drivers side this weekend. The reason for the rotor swap this weekend is because I noticed that while driving, a weird noise was coming from that area. Pulled the wheel a week ago and could make the noise by turning the rotor by hand so the rotor will be changed.
The reason for this post along with the story above is because while stopping below 35mph, I get this god awful vibration in the front end. Could it be because of the rotor and with that changed the vibrations will go away? Any ideas if it is not the rotor?

Thank Birk

Yes it could be because the rotor is warped. My fiancees car did the same thing, the whole damn car would shake so bad it was hard to keep on the road, changed the rotors and its good as new, well about as good as new as a 14 year old car with 180k can be!

So u know never change pads on one side and not the other . Hell if anyhting when u do front brakes toss everything rotors , caliper s all of it and replace it . The seal in the caliper will wear out as well .

Thanks for the input. I did the rotor yesterday. When I did the pads about a month ago, I did both sides but only changed the rotor on the passenger side. The drivers side was not as bad but yesterday was the day to change it. The bearing look good and it seems, I hope, that the noise that was being made is gone as well as the massive vibrations. Still a little but I suspect that the pads on the drivers side are the reason for that. When I took the pads off to do the rotor, the outboard pad had the groove mark from the old rotor, that will wear down and hopefully stop the small vibrations. Thanks again

when ever you change rotors CHANGE THE PADS!!! common sence here..... i am doing brakes on my moms explorer tuesday and it needs rotors also.. and new pads are going on even though i replaced them 2 weeks ago.. if there is a ridge in the pad it will wear that one spot into the rotor until it is gone yes but could damage the rotor also... could being the key word.... sorry bout the rant but i did brakes in a shop for 2 yrs so its a touchy subject for me...
