Just had an idea, and I don't know if its a good one or not so I'm throwing it out. I'm thinking about doing a 3 inch body lift. I know people have used hockey pucks(i know thats a bad idea) and stuff like that, but what about cutting the actual mounts off of the frame and moving them up and rewelding/bolting them on? I can't see there being a problem with it other than it could possibly weaken the frame. Just a thought, any opinions?

I think that would work, I would just make sure to reinforce it. I think kyot did that on the monster truck that's in the pic section. Maybe you should ask him how he did it. On the cheaper side, I've seen those hard rubber rollers from boat trialers used and they seem to hold up fine.

When finances around here are back in order; I'd already decided to go the boat roller route on my RC; more practical than moving mounts, and much cheaper than ordering a kit. Filler for the gaps will be free, as was the metal for bumpers & shackle flip/ spring mounts.
