i got me a 86 ramcharger today :D but :\'( :\'( it has a big dent in the passenger side rear quarter panel from the first body line to the very top body line below the window is there a after market panel for sale to fix that or should i go skin one in a salvage yard if i can find one?


i can send pics if any one need to see kind of hard to tell you about it

ugh that is integral sheetmetal so no skins are made for it . u will probably have to pull the dents out with a slide hammer and use some bondo to fix it . if u do cut the old metal out it will be hella hard ot get it back in and make it look right .

there was a similar post on here a couple of weeks back. I don't remember who but it was suggested to use a basketball or similar object and insert it in between the inner and outer body panels and then inflate it to remove the dents as much as possible. but then again if you are a body man a stud gun and slide hammer you should be able to pull the dent out and not use to much mud in the end.

If the dent is not creased (at least not badly) a football or basketball works well. Stand back though, sometimes the ball will pop :eek:

Couple years back we bought a big suction cup for pulling dents, and it actually works quite well. I can't count how may friends I've said "I could pull that for you, ya know," and impressed them with this thing. If you can get the basketball to work, great, but this is just what I used to pull a completely crushed door out after the truck was driven into a ditch...
