Apparently auto meter decided to realize dodge made trucks before 1994 and started making piliar pods but didnt tell anyone. PN.#15198 is for a dual pod unit they also make a single unit .They are desined to hold any 2 1/16 " gauge the hardest part will be routing the wires/hoses ,depending weither you use electric or mechanical.Mine required slight trimming on the back side to match my trim ,the included hardware to mount it I didnt care for and decided to use 3m adhesive fome tape instead.I got mine from summit (they had it in stock) price was 24.95 ckeck autometer for applacation
www.autometer.com
go to gauge works on page 25 for list, and they only come in black you will need to dye it to match your interior

I have looked into these before. The only problem I had was that I would like to have a tach in there. Tach's that are 2 1/16th are friggin expensive, considering that a 3" diameter tach can be had for around 30 bucks, while these smaller ones were upwards of 80 dollars. However, if there was a way to remove the ammeter and engine temp guage from the stock cluster, and add a tach, I think that would work out well. I just don't like the idea of mounting a tach on top of the dash. Would obstruct the view to me.....

Thanks

Been hunting some kind of gauge pods for my RC for months now. A search of their website came up with NOTHING at Autometer before. Glad you found it. For some reason that want to keep it a secret. Go figure.
Ordered it today. Got a pair of 2" SunPro mech temp and oil gauges I have been needing to mount somewhere that was eye level other than thin air.

I've got a 3" tach mounted on my pickup's dash, and I don't find it obscures my vision in the slightest. It's mounted a couple of inches left of being centered with the steering wheel. Make a cardboard "lollypop" with a 3 1/2" round part and a "stick" about 1 inch tall and you can use this as a rough gauge (no pun intended) of what your tach will cover up. For me, it covers up part of the hood, but none of the road.

Don't know.

It is just me I guess but I want to make things look super clean with no wires visabler, don't like things that just looked rigged.
Want to start putting my RC in shows when I get done. The last 2 MoPar shows I went to there was a bunch of Dodge pickups but not a single Ramcharger/Trailduster anywhere.
If you are building a mud soaked trail rig, I guess it doesn't matter how they are mounted.

Yeah, what you're building has a huge impact on how you want to go about it. Mine is just a work truck and moderate off-roader. An exposed wire loom isn't the ugliest thing in the interior of my truck. You should see the seat cover. Ugh.

Why do you want a tach? For looks or for racing? I have a small el cheapo one mounted on my dash in such a way that I can watch it and watch the road or pit or whatever with my peripheral vision. It's neat, and a lot of my drag racer friends said it was a good idea. If you wanna try it, move the tach around while sitting in your normal driving position while staring where you normally look when driving. When you reach a spot where you can see the tach clearly, and the road, thats where you stick it. :) :D

The tach in my TD is mounted to the left of the steering column and I hate it. As soon as I get an autometer tach, it's going onto the pillar or on top of the dash...After a roll cage goes in, it will be mounted to that. :D
