On my 84 R/C, whenever i turn my Heater on, the blower motor makes alot of humming noises. The guy i got the truck from, busted the outer stuff that holds the heater motor in, so he used some Blue tape and sylicone to hold it in place. It is pretty lose. Any idea what that humming noise is? it does it on defrost and everything. Thanks

Probably the fan housing rubbing on the heater core housing if the blower motor mounts are broken. If this is the case there is not much you can do, short of a new heater box. You may be able to make new blower motor mounts with a thin sheet of aluminum or steel. Cut out the sheet for the blower motor, attach it to the box and bolt the motor on.

I have heard the heat/a-c blowers hum before, when I have removed the blower motor from the suite-case, I've usually found that the "squrial cage" blower is unballenced by dirt in the vanes. A through cleaning was all that was needed in the ones that I had to fix. When the motor and cage is out try and see if you have some leaves or other trash in the suite-case that you can reach and pull out.
