Hey all,

I am replacing my alt and have a few questions.

1. I bought the alt that is the replacement for a 88 dodge ramcharger WITH NIPPONDENSO ALTERNATOR according to autozone. I got this b/c it is a 120 amp alt and figure now that i am replacing is the best time to upgrade.
The alt looks to be a direct bolt in, except for the fact that I have to replace pulleys on the alts. The new one came with no pulley. any hints for getting the old pulley off???

2. does anyone know for sure where my volt regulator is??
this new alt does not have an internal one, but has a tag on it saying that it is controlled by the computer. is this correct, or if not, where is my voltage regulator?

Thanks for any help

You will need a pulley puller for sure. Those things are on ultra tight.

Pat,
The parts store should have switched the pulley for you, and if you went to a better parts rebuilder, it would have come with the pulley, which for the NIPPO alternator is a different diameter, and the pulley alignment wasn't just "'til it bottomed out.."
At least that's what I found out with mine.
