So I am in the market for a nice air gun. I have my crossman from when I was a kid...shoots way off and not enough FPS anymore. I was doing some landscaping today (2 acres) and I noticed some burrows on the property i.e. a woodchuck or a rabbit. I also noticed a turd on my basement window that looks like a ****.

SO....I am shopping around.

My goals I want to accomplish with the purchase:

-quick kills (woodchuck size game..assuming .177 will do the trick)
-quality rifle
-prefer iron and scope
-break action
-under or around $200
-Name brand (have a bunch from gift cards from work, going to a local outdoor shop)
-I have a small field/ food plot that past my 10 ft of woods then there are houses so the .22 or shotgun might not be a good choice with neighbors on either side.

My two choices so far from doing research:

Or the Stoeger x20

Thoughts?

I would go with .22 cal myself. ;)

I use an old crossman .22 cal medalist and it takes out grouse, rabbit, gophers/squirrels when needed at reasonable ranges

Gavin, you want the Gamo Whisper.

http://www.airgundepot.com/gamo-whisper-22.html

.22 caliber
integral noise suppressor
3x9-40 scope
950F.P.S. (1200F.P.S. in .177 caliber)

This air rifle will take any and all critters you listed with not to much of a problem at all. And, with the integral suppressor is so quiet that you won't have to worry about neighbors hearing you firing it within city limits and getting you in trouble.

They start around $200 and go up depending on exact set up you get.

I have the arsenal to kill everything up a Brown bear. The neighbors are hunters and animal watchers with little girls. So I prefer to be discrete with what I am doing so I am looking into the air guns. Worse come to worse I have a .22 or a 12 ga with waterfowl loads. I prefer to be a good neighbor lol.

I looked at this one or the Ruger Air Hawk 1000.
