4 speed or 5? single PTO or dual? could be
4 speed:
NP 435
5 speed:
NP 540, NP542, NP7550, NP 7590
all the 5 speeds have dual PTO covers
should be a ID tag on any New Process part.
Looks just like my NP445. It could be a NP435 also, the only big difference is the first gear ratio, the 435 gear it 6.55 compared to mid 4 somethings in the 445. You can run a divorced 205 behind any maunal, you just have to get that short dirveshaft made.
The same brakes dodgeman mentions in his first post-
"where to get the brake parts"...it looks like it has the
air actuated drum brake on the back of the tranny in the
pics. They used them in D/W 600's 4/5 speed manual
and on the 4 speed automatics.
it is not going into a pickup ,it would be going into the cagedodge and i want the brake if possible for the ability to brake at tranny ,in addition to braking at the wheels, so you guys are thinking its out of a larger dodge than a ramcharger?it was workin when i pulled it,but i never drove it ,the guy i got it from drove it to my house and i began the removal of motor for another truck the same day,the clutch is broken /rusted and i would need a new one, also i would need the divorced 205 t case to make it work for my needs but if its a low geared tranny then I need it in the cage,and it would stop my slipping problem(with auto) when at extreme angles for sure
So that brake is an internal expanding type right?
(as opposed to external contracting)
Looks internal from what I can see in the pics..
Both are cable actuated.
What did you pull it out of?
