well i got my truck back from the shop today they replaced a couple of sensors and it works fine now. price tag: $319.90
inside the sensors he showed me the little peices of metal and clutch material from the torque converter and said that i would need a new one. i dont have any money right now so if anyone could give me some info on the best place to get one or maby if i could do it my self (i doubt it) any info would help.

how long had it been since your trans service before you took it to the shop? if the fluid wasn't changed or trans not serviced in a while, it could be possible that those pieces of metal and clutch were just from lack of maintenence. same thing happened when i got my trans serviced, and it had been six years! get your moneys worth out of the old convertor and when trans starts to slip, then get it replaced. should give you some time to save your money too.
