Just bought a 92 Ramcharger. Front brakes needed replaced so I figured I'd repack the bearings while I was at it. When I removed the hubs I noticed only on the driver side there was a let's call it bushing that goes behind the puck inside the Hub. The passenger side did not have this bushing. At first I thought I was a piece of exhaust tubing with it cut in half. Just wondering is there supposed to be one on the passenger side as well? And what the heck is this thing called?
Thanks

yes its factory , simply called a spacer . Its only used when there are NO manual hubs installed. seems to me its on both sides , its going to hold the axle shaft "OUT" keeping the rubber dust wiper up against the hub . How critical that is , is up for debate ...  good description of the tin split thing by the way....
