Hey guy's, I have a friend w/ an 89 d200 that just stopped running a couple of days ago after running fine. He said it quit like turning the key off. I went and checked, no fire. I put a spare coil I have on it and it cranked. So we bought a new coil and put on it and it ran fine. He called last night and said after driving it twice, it has done the same thing. Any ideas on what could be wrong?
It's a stock truck to. mike

Loose connection or bad wiring crimp at the coil, bad ballast resistor or maybe just a different problem. I would vote for a wiring problem. :)

the only thing that will burn out a coil is to much voltage on the NEG side from the ECM / or like Chump says a bad wire

Incorrect ballast is deadly to a coil. My vote is for a bad ballast resistor. ?????????
