I just bought her now I got to get her home. 4x4,360, Royal SE, Prospector. BTW what is the Royal SE and Prospector mean? Is it just trim or what? I had a 90 RC, 318 when I was at Fort Drum, NY. Awesome vehicle for that climate but the NY Salt gave her cancer real bad. Just in case your wondering my 1969_RT username is for my 69 Charger w/400 stroker (451).
Yeah, the Prospector and Royal SE packages were option and trim packages. For instance, you have a lot more interior trim than my 88 does, but I'm working on acquiring those "Higher end" interior pieces so I can cut down on the road noise.
Well, I've got the Captains chairs in mine. I think those were stock, and the bench was an option. You don't see too many R/C's that came with a factory bench. Woodgrain trim? Most likely that's the Royal........and I do believe the Prospector was exterior trim.
She has 130,000 miles. I haven't physically seen her yet (I'm in Kuwait) but I think I got a great deal on her < 2. I'm guessing a 360 with that many mile probably needs a valve job, timing chain and maybe a good torque cam. What have you guys done to yours to get a little more out of em? I size wheels and tires will fit under stock suspention?
Or, for a more conservative approach, have some mild port work done on the heads, get yourself a mild cam that favours the exhaust side, (I like Hughes, my 208/214 - .458 .470 hydraulic is wonderful), and top it off with a set of good quality small tube equal length headers. That should give what you desire.
As for tires, I have 33" x 12.5" Super Swamper TSL Radials with no lift. When I got rid of the stock width rims (7" I believe) and put on the 10" wide the only contact I had was slight at the front of the front wheel well openings. Fixed that with a towel and a hammer
With a mild offset, and an 8" wide rim, you should be able to run the same without any real problems. They do look a wee bit "stuffed" though.
