This is going to be more of an ownership thread than a build thread. Really haven't to do much with the thing except put gas in it and run it. Ok, mechanical stuff but mostly maintenance.

Paid $1300 for 318/3 tree, w/ 86,000 on the clock.
Drove it home, water pump went so did timing chain too.
Brake caliper hung up, wheel bearing grease seal leak so did all that. Later went back in to do the axle u-joints I should have done.
Swapped the tiny BBD for a small holley 4bl, later put on a TQ.
Dual exhaust.
Converted the 3-tree to 727.

12 yrs later have only put 25k on it, 440 still in the corner.

Some pics from the for sale ad. Was posted here but the photo hosting was broken - had to msg seller to get the pics. Bought new in 79, garaged. Paperwork from day 1 included.

Mostly original paint. PO had fender bender on LF, rt side scratches touched up. Original pie plates came with it, later found Chrysler 15x8 slots and put 31x10s on it.

Standard issue 318, nothing to see here. Still looks about the same except for carb and different oem air cleaner.

Boneyard scores: Uber nice early 80s high backs, SE steering wheel and dash face, 90s am/fm/cass. Original sound was am only so put in some boxes.

Traded a couple cop rims for a 4wd 727, fed it clutches, seals, converter. Found column, shift linkage, pedal in boneyard, had lines. Sorry no pics of trans freshen / install. I fouled up the linkage swap, bypassed the blown neutral switch I didn't test and the thing went to drive while filling the fluid. Have much nicer bench and sink now. Some serious dents in grille and after market fender on DS got dimpled.

Ya gotta put the top somewhere plan A and B. One of the few options on this thing was the full headliner so outside storage didn't seem like a good idea.

Small floor jack and some lumber to crack the weather strip seal (learned on RCC). Harbor Freight winch came with the Jeep top lifting fixture. Don't try this at home and yeah, have since beefed it up.

Original owner sprayed something on the floors. The newspaper kept the jute mat under the rubber floor from sticking to whatever it was. Would ya believe best way to remove was a pressure washer?

After market fender from when PO bent his 1 owner pride and joy then bought it back from insurance company. Front dent is from totaling my work bench. Back dent is from catching a deer - grille guard to the head, bumper to the shoulder, spun and backed in to fender. Clean original donor and have spear. Rust happens.

Sweet find!!!!!!

I'd passed on other 318s over the years while holding out for a 360 or better. Couldn't pass this thing up based on price and condition. I hope to get back to the drive train upgrade.

In various corners of the garage I have 75 Imperial 440, truck pan, exhaust, gaskets etc, and a big block 727. Major missing piece is the brake booster and the motivation. Hey, the 318 runs like a watch and other priorities.

Are you from Pa?

About an hour west of Tony and he's the one I got the trans from.

If ya noticed the date on the newspaper floor liner, ya can see that was from Scranton which is where this thing lived and managed not to rust at all. The guy must have had something else for the snow?

Speaking of which, was window shopping plows around 2009 and ended up doing this:

That's awesome!
I need to get my plow truck back in shape and figure out why the plow pump is not working. Or just sendit out and have it fixed. I missed it last year and with all the rain we've been having I'm sure we're gonna get some snow this year.

Yeah, that way.

Maybe check this place out:

I'm sure it's gone by now but back around march they had the remnants of a 70s Snow Commander RC. About the only thing left of it was the hydros. The original spot in New Ringold used to be a great spot for old Dodge parts and I don't wanna think about how much good stuff got crushed.
