hello .
we are going to by a 79 lebaron with a 318 4 bbl and a bad trans.727 i assume? this is a fairly nice car . the owner can put it in 2nd and break the tires in gravel ? no other gears seem to work .ive been in a 727 before (reverse band)what might be wrong with this one ?

does first and reverse use the same band?
wouldn't the trans still shift from 2nd to 3rd?
which trans kit will this need?
will a autozone rebuild kit be ok ? or somewhere else?

Well, I have the title now, just have to bring it home. It was WAY cheap. Going to do a re-build. Car was $175. looks good, sounds good.
