Howdy, I have a small leak from my power steering pump that putting teflon tape on all the fitting threads and re tightening has not been able to fix. I even put in some stop leak to no avail. The brackets and stuff on this pump are a nightmare. I think this is a reservoir type pump where the reservoir can be replaced without replacing the entire pump.

1. Is replacing just the reservoir the way to go or should I replace the entire pump?

2. What tips or suggestions do you have for replacing the pump in terms of when to add fluid, how to prime the pump if I have to, etc, etc. Any suggestions welcomed.

3. What source for a pump do you recommend, NAPA, Autozone, etc?

4. Part numbers always welcomed.

Thanks,
Mac

Well Mac...my last resort is to buy a rebuilt anything! Why not try resealing your original? Get a kit from Autozone or NAPA.

According to the Autozone website they dont stock the complete rebuild kit in the store..only the seal kit and as I recall the difference between the complete rebuild kit and the seal kit is just the bushing that the shaft rides on?
