I recently acquired a 1962 413 big block (block casting number) 1852029-2. Now I'm looking for a transmission. What years of the BB 727 will bolt up? More specifically, could I use a 727 from a '70's or '80's truck? The motor is going in my '86 D-150. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

you need a bb 727.you should be able to use any bb 727 bb trans out of a car or 2wd truck.since your truck is a 2wd( if i read your profile correct) you can use your stock mount and drive shaft. what did the 413 come out of? you will need the truck bb oil pan and dipstick, mounts and either manifolds or headers. dont forget about the rad.

The guy I got it from said it was in a '65 Imperial. But decoding the casting number online says it was either a truck motor or a max wedge motor. It dosen't have the original heads/intake so if it was a max wedge I guess I'll never know. As far as the radiator I was thinking about this:

Will that work well?
