2002 Ram with a 4.7.

I’m replacing the spark plugs and I let the parts guy talk me into coil boot rebuild kit. I take it all apart and find I’m having trouble getting the spring back in.

I drop it in and of course, it falls back out when turned over. It looks like the spring snaps down inside somehow but I can’t figure out how

Anybody got any ideas on how thesego back in? It seems like it should be real simple. I’ve tried pushing the spring down with a screwdriver or bolt to try and get it to snap into place but thus far I have only managed to mangle the spring.

while the BOOT is off you snap the spring on the coil stud then put the BOOT back on

Did I Not have the boot off? The rubber piece right? Does something more come off?

I ended up just mashing the spring down with a bolt face, it seemed to snap into place. I was concerned the spring was compressed too far and would t make contact but it seemed to work.

I didn’t bother changing out the spring on the rest of them. What a bastard that was.
