Does anyone know of a good value on some good flat top pistons for a 383? I want to spin about 6000 rpms, so I probably need forged. ???

.030 over, and I'd prefer to keep my 10:1 compression ratio if possible. I looked at some TRW's but a note on the page sayes they are charging an extra 30% due to shortages. B.S. huh?

In the latest Summit catalog there is a sealed power engine rebuild kit for a 383 with .030 over forged pistons for $539.95 (page 113). The compression ratio is listed as 8.94:1, but it says "more applications available, just call". I used one of their 440 kits when I built my engine and was very happy with it. For a few $$$ more than the cost of forged pistons only, their complete kits are really a good deal.
