what all do i need to change over from a slant 6 to a 360? the truck is a 87 d100 with a 4spd dont know what kinda trans to go with the 360 is outta a rv i can get the trans outta the rv but what all do i need to change it over

Well what ever trans the 360 came with you can use, and then you might even get lucky and not need a d-shaft

I think i read that wrong the \6 trans won't work with the 360

You will need motor mounts, tranny, and driveline at a minimum. It would also be wise to upgrade the front springs, and possibly even the rear axle (depending on how much you beat on it).

Other "small" items frequently overlooked:
-wiring harness
-accelerator pedal/cable
-radiator
-speedo cable
-exhaust system

The list goes on for the little items, a swap like this can end up "nickle and diming" you to death unless you can get everything you need from a good donor vehicle. Good luck

so what would be better try n build up the slant or go with the v8? im lookin for hp n driveabilty. not a daily driver more like a weekender.

if you want to build up your slant 6 try clifford performance website. you can get 4bbls headers etc. they even have a 6 pak to go on a slant, I'm planning on getting one for my '73 duster. also the connecting rods are offset in the pistons on a slant, if you reverse the pistons on the rods it will give you more torque and make it run louder. I did it when I rebuilt my brothers slant (also in a '73 duster) make sure you reverse the pistons on the rods and not just turn the rods around 'cause then it won't oil your crank right.
