I am getting ready to swap out my 208 for a 241. This is in the 84 model RC. The 241 is out of a 90. What are the differences in the cases. Gear Drive VS Chain Drive. Is one any better than the other. Anything i should look out for in the swap.

241 is better, stonger, and has lower gearing.

I think the 208 is a 2.4 to1 low while the 241 is 2.6 to 1. There is a 4 to 1 low kit available for the 241.

i thought the 208 was 2.6 to one? and i know the 241 is 2.72 to 1. and yes, there is a 4 to 1 kit for the 241.

Both of these t-cases are chain driven using planetary reduction gears and light weight aluminum housings. The 208 came first and has limited shift on the fly capability. You can say that the 241 is an evolution of the 208 in terms of shift on the fly as it has greater capability in this.

Both t-cases have a 1:1 gear reduction in high range, but in low range, the 208 has a 2.61 reduction, while the 241 has 2.72 gear reduction.
