can i directly swap a 203 out for a 205?is it possible?its it worth it?

its not a direct swap, but it can be done. u will need a new tranny tail shaft and maybe a new crossmember, and possibly new driveshafts. the 205 is a stronger case and is gear driven, but is a part time tcase, so it depends on how much u like ur full time setup on whether its worth it.

my ford has a 205 and i wouldnt have anything else, my ramcharger is going to get a 205 soon, shifting from 2 or 4 is so much easier that with a 203 or 208

It can be done, but if you want to save money and for go the headache, just convert the 203 to part time. Although the 203 is chain driven, it a very stout unit. The 205 maybe alittle better in that it has gear drive, but the 203 isn't very far behind in brute strength.
