1990 360 TBI idle problem

My 1990 RC has an idle problem. It is a 360 TBI. I have traced the problem to the AIS motor. The gears inside this motor are toast. What I want to know is if there is some way to run the TBI without the AIS motor plugged in. When I unplug the thing it will barely start on cold days let alone idle. I am assuming that this acts like an electric choke. Is there a way to bypass this? ???

That's one I've never seen a question about. I guess you could use a choke cable, but the adjustments would be pretty fine as opposed to a traditional choke. That, or take the AIS out of the bracket and fab some sort of throttle stop to put in place. No idea how the system would react to this. Just a thought.

I don't think that would work because the AIS is getting it's signal from the O2 sensor. Thus compensating for rich/Lean conditions constantly. It would be nice if I could get a used one. Dealer here in Canada says part is not available. :\'( Thanks for the thought though!

The Motor should still be available from the dealer although not cheap.
Chrysler part number 4288256.
The motor is also available from most major auto parts stores like NAPA.
NAPA part number CRB22191.

There is also a gear kit available to repair the motor from some of the major auto parts stores.
NAPA part number CRB2-2193
