The Heat and Air was ripped out of my RamCharger before I bought it and I am looking to replace it with what it had or any recommendation from fellow members... I need to purchase parts also... Unfortunately I haven't hit lotto yet so as low cost as possible... Thx...

salvage yard for small parts, air handler box, etc and you can check Bouchillon Performance for new main pieces.

I had to get the same parts as you are wanting, in adding ac to am 85 pickup that came from the factory w/o it. Junkyard, ebay, swap meets, DMT, and even McMaster Carr each got some of my money in the quest for parts. See my recent post about new foam for doors within a heater/ac box on here

I wound up with 3 heater boxes between CL and swap meets,.I went thru them and got 2 good , functional units from the 3, I mixed and matched the best parts among the 3 and basically had 1 complete heater box worth of parts worthy of garbage can fill among them.

Foam seals (not counting the foam for the recirc door) came from DMT

Foam for recirc door came from McMaster Carr

Reman compressor and clutch/coil came among 2 different sellers on ebay
As did new hard lines, a new expansion valve from 2 more different sellers

Dash vents, an instrument cluster bezel, and mount brackets for a factory ac pump came from a junkyard

I also wound up with 2, factory ac dashes and almost 3 sets of the plastic tubes to connect the heater/ac box
to the various dash vents from a swap meet
Though, now that I see the factory ac dash stacked on the bench among the original non ac dash, I can see how easy it will be to cut-in the holes for the louvered vents on either side of the glove box into the original dash out of the truck// so I don't have to worry about finding the (unobtanium) correct rosette rivets to transfer my vin tag to one of my replacement dashes.

I also have what is supposed to be a good used set of V8 hard lines here that I won't be using because they won't fit my /6. And after I bought my reman compressor I thought I saw a used compressor in the attic left over from a truck my son had that he parted out years ago..... If you're sorta close to Chicago I wonder if any of the leftovers might help ya out?

I'm almost there, still lacking a condenser and a couple of smaller more trivial pieces such as a low pressure cutout switch but I have time, as in other stuff I have to do to the truck (that has little to do with HVAC install) before I put it back together

Thanks for answers and offer of parts, I am in Georgia and sounds like its gonna be a project... but from the responses it seems like I should start trying to put back to stock instead of using any type of kit if there is such a thing available... thanks all...

Oh absolutely. I would try as much as possible to go stock-type parts. Everything will fit. Hoses, compressor, and condenser can be altered as any good AC shop could make you replacement hoses, but the cabin pieces are worth the effort. It isn't a terrible job and they rarely need replacing if installed right.

Look on google for automotive HVAC service. you may have to go to a neighboring large town. I'm in a small town, 50K people, and I have one.
