If you ever wondered who Carl Marx was, and what shaped his philosophical view that resulted in Marxism? An ideology that has resulted in more death and misery than any other governing philosophy put into practice. RC Sproul lectures on that very subject. http://www.ligonier.org/rym/broadcasts/video/marx-cornte/

Not to get too involved here, but why not a biography on Jesus Christ, founder of, Christianity the religion that has started more wars and caused more death than any other religious belief?

well many christians on here would argue that the penalty for 'not conforming to Jesus' is everlasting torment in hell........not exactly a pleasant alternative

well many christians on here would argue that the penalty for 'not conforming to Jesus' is everlasting torment in hell........not exactly a pleasant alternative You fail to realize that you are already under the condemnation for your sins. "The wages of sin is death" You can believe in Jesus; you can like Jesus, you can be neutral concerning Jesus. You can dislike Jesus, your can hate Jesus and the Gospel or you can disbelieve all of the above. You will receive your payment in full no matter. You only "escape the judgment" for you sins if you have saving faith in Christ and repent of those sins. In this case Christ himself bears the burden of sin.

Thank you for confirming my point:If you didn't conform to the communists plan they tortured and killed you.....AND many christians believe that if you dont 'conform to Gods plan for salvation in this life' God will allow you to be tortured for all eternity. ::)I'm well aware of your beliefs on the subject

There is already a biography on Jesus Christ. It's called the bible. And if you didn't know it already, you would discover by simply reading it, that, this so called founder of Christianity, the religion, which has started more wars, came to this world, not to rule over armies and shed blood, but to die on a cross for you. Contrast this to Marxism, Communism and Socialism which has resulted in an estimated 100 million deaths, in just the 20th century alone, and I think you would rather want to be a friend of Jesus rather than a friend of Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Polpot, Che Guevara, etc. Ed

If some dude trekked around in sandals trying to get people to love and respect each other some 2020 years ago, I'd be his friend. From the book that people wrote about him, he seemed cool enough. What happened in the following 2010 years though is a friggin abomination of fear-mongering, power hungry people who have used Christianity, and religion as a whole, to further their agenda against a populous of brainwashed people who fall victim to the lie of some little world that you'll get to go to when you die if you behave and fear said people of power. In the words of a real person, who did the same things Christ supposedly did (minus the magic act) and doesn't have a billion whack jobs committing all sorts of heinous crimes in his name: "I love your Christ. It’s just that so many of you Christians are so unlike your Christ." -Mahatma Ghandi

What book did you read? Sounds like you are referring to some hippie from the 60s. The ONLY people that had any love for Jesus was his family and followers. The "world" itself hated him. They did nail him to a cross after all on completely trumped up charges. The message of Christ was NOT peace, love and "can we all just get along". It was You are DEAD IN YOUR SINS, but you can have life through repentance and faith in me. To the self righteous Jewish people this was a slap in the face. To the ones that knew they were lost and in need of a savior, this these were the words of life. The message is the same today;and just like then people HATE Christ.
There is a BIG difference in the teachings of Jesus Christ and what people have done in his name claiming to represent him. If you do not draw a distinction there you are NOT interested Jesus Christ at all.
Jesus Christ is a true history figure and is just as REAL is GHandi. Historians of the period wrote about Jesus and coorborate events mentioned in the Bible. If you didn't KNOW; GHandi's movement was after a POLITICAL means. Jesus was interested in the souls of humanity. Ghandi wasn't.

In general, I agree with this. I'll even add that many tyrants and other power hungry people, love to invoke Christ's name, when it suits their cause. But is it what Christ preached? No it is not. Plenty of people died in the name of religion, all sorts of religion, not just Christianity. Oh yeah, plenty of people also died for being Christians by those who hate Christianity. How many Christians over the ages were fed to the lions, persecuted, or murdered because they refused to renounce their faith? In the words of a real person, who did the same things Christ supposedly did (minus the magic act) and doesn't have a billion whack jobs committing all sorts of heinous crimes in his name:
"I love your Christ. It’s just that so many of you Christians are so unlike your Christ." -Mahatma Ghandi
Ghandi's quote is quite true but not for the reasons you may think, Jesus said; Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?' Then I will declare to them solemnly, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers. As I mentioned before, Jesus didn't come to rule countries, or command mighty armies, or for that matter establish a religion. His mission was to accomplish that thing you call a magic act. To die on a cross for you, and more importantly, the finale to his act was when he was resurrected three days later. Jesus came with a message of hope, he did not advocate religious wars, or mass murder. You can blame man, but you cannot blame Jesus for this. Now speaking of murder, lets go back to socialism, communism, and marxism. While some blame Christianity or religion for atrocities, atrocities have also occurred outside of religion or Christianity. These non Christian beliefs of socialism, communism and marxism have killed more people since it was conceived 100 yrs ago, more than the greatest of war or the deadliest natural catastrophe. An estimated 100 million innocent people were killed by the likes of Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Polpot, Che and dozens of others who share that unobtainable belief of utopia through govt controlled collectivism.
