i would go with the skyjacker 6" system, the "system" comes with new rear springs as where the "kit" comes with just blocks. i had it with some 36" parnelli jones' and only had minimal rub at the rear edge of the front fender. you should also do a crossover steering set up if you go over 4" of lift. that's the only way i ever got mine to feel comfortable and it ended all bump steer. you're also gonna need to pick up some new driveshafts, double cardan front and rear with 1350 joints top and bottom.

if your not gonna wheel it hard i would stay with the 60/60hd w/trac locks in both. and i wouldn't up grade the shafts until you brake a stock one.

Thanks Mike.
I already planned on the crossover. Matter of fact I have the DOM tubing,7/8" Taps & the taper reamers for the 1 ton tie rod ends. I feel like a Chipmunk getting ready for winter. The shafts I am thinking about are double cardan front and rear with 1410 joints top and bottom. Probably a little on the over kill side Grin Grin. Tires ? Mickey Thompson Baja Claws 36 x 15.5 - 18". That is why I'm thinking 35 spliners. That's a lot of rubber on the ground. I can't wait until I get this other house done & sold. That will free up my time & GREEN

hey, does your rep8000 surge when in use ?  Mine will work, then stop for a sec, then work again.  I don't know if it is the winch or the remote control I have.  I think it even does it with the cable control.

mine is on my trailer, not the truck, so it isn't that big a deal, but if this is common on ramsey winches, i won't get one for the RC.

I haven,t had a chance to use it yet. I've had the truck about a year and a half & haven't used it. Spent some time working on the motor & plumbing this summer. After that the 727 is slipping bad in reverse  Cry. So it has been in the drive way & I'm gathering parts for the 1ton swap over.

Been busy working on the other house but I had a chance to install the new battery & hold down.
It felt good to do a little work on her.

Went to replace my steering shaft. Look at the cob fix some one did ( washers  Shocked ). So I put in a Borgeson steering shaft with a stainless steel "u" joint & d shaft. I had one in my 85' for years & the salt up here in N.Y. just ate it up. Just trying to get some small stuff done until I sell that other house. I can't wait Cheesy Grin.
The list
1) New 727 & comp shifter
2)D60 front & D70 Rear with disc brakes
3) new 1410 "u" joints & drive shafts
4) new springs
5) new tires & wheels

looks good question though how did u do those cable ends for your battery cables ? iu need to re do mine and lke what u did with yours ... so whats the secret lol  Wink

The negative cable has 3 cables on it.
1) goes to the alt
2) goes to the frame
3 ) goes to the block or body Think

The positive I just installed a new end on the old cables.
In time I'll make new positive cables.
The ends are made by Thomas & Betts.
They are made out of brass.
When the copper wire is inserted into the brass ends we coat the wire with copper antiseize. This helps stop corrosion & promotes  a better connection. Then it is crimped on. After that I use Thomas & Betts battery cable shrink tubing. The t&b tubing is HD & has an adhesive in it to seal out moisture.

Hope this helps Wink

Any HD truck shop or fork lift shop should be able to make them up.them.

Forgot to say I use welding cable for all my battery cables.

Right now I have a Hurst Quarter stick. It shifts up good but I don't like the down shifts. From 3rd to 2nd is almost a guess. I'll be looking into a Art Carr shifter.

Well I got to my floor repair.
First power brushed all the affected area
2nd) scrubbed the areas with a coarse 3M pad & Marine Clean
3rd) prepped the bare steel with Metal Ready & let it sit over   night to throughly dry
4th) Applied first coat of silver POR-15 & let dry
5th) applied 2nd coat of silver POR-15
Next I'll let it sit for the week & prime it with a self etching primer then top coat it.

I love that steering wheel.  Where did you find that thing?  BTW, how do you like the POR 15?  I'm thinking of coating my entire frame in it and then painting it.

Check here for the wheel.

Check here for the button

With the por-15 you will need to follow their recommendations. Probably best to sand-blast the frame then do the por-15 3 step process. Then you can prime and paint the top coat. From what I have researched, the por 15 needs a tooth to adhere to otherwise it could peel off.  This is what I'll probably do with mine.

 Grin Grin Grin

What kind of stainless line and fittings are those on your power steering box?

Thanks guys!
For the power steering,
I went to my local Aeroquip hose outlet & they set me up with the metric adaptors to a AN fitting on the steering box. On the return line on the pump they brazed a AN fitting to the return nipple. On the pressure side I believe it is a NPT to AN adapter. Bring the pump to them when you get the fittings & they will set you up. After that it's hoses made to what ever you tell them. Look in the yellow pages under hydraulic hoses for a supplier.

Looks good there Jungle. Looks like I was about a month too late on my offer. I was gonna tell you that I have some pieces of an '83 RC interior that are maroon and would look good in your truck. Seeing as how you're only in Albany you only about 45 minutes or so from me. I'm in Pittsfield,MA.Let me know if you need anything.I know you're going for the newer stuff but the stuff is usable and in decent shape, I think I still have :dash, seats, console, kick panels, visors. I think that may be it but let kme know if you have any needs.

Still looking for the little light lens that go into the rear drivers side, side panels. Also will be looking for the drivers side kick panel. Would the 83 be the same colour as the 89 that I am using? Also will be looking for a Great set of door panels Wink

I do have the kick panels. I can't promise that they are the exact same color but I believe they must be close. If you want I can check them out and see if they're in good condition. As far as the lights for the rear side panels. I won't have any of those just for the fact that my black panels and my red panels were both shot so I made my own out of either 1/8" or 1/4" luan. I then carpeted them with black carpet to match the carpet in the interior. They look great and only cost me about $40 total. I used some lights from the auto sectio at WalMart. They carried more 8 years ago than they do today so you may not be able to find them there anymore. They came out of the auto electrical section. If I can ever get my camera up and working again I'll see if I can get some pics and post them up here. Again , I'll check the pieces out and post back here.

A few more shots.
The maroon dash is in Grin.
I still have to install the gauges. I'm thinking about doing the white faces at this time with the red LED dash lights.
