hot damn! looks good to have lived up no-th. mine came from the mountains of tenn. the rockers had cancer bad. yours look in good shape.mine also had some to spring up at the bottom of the rear windows up under the trim. one day i would like to find a cherry body to build a nice asphalt only 4x4 88. fresh 360 crate, maybe 2.5" lift with 33's on 12" wide aluminum mikey's. and paint it that deep burgandy candy metal flake GM used on the 05 tahoes.
so what's your plans for it?say the 88 has a 440? got pics?

The first 2 years of the 88's life was spent in Rocky Ford, Colorado. From there it went to Hudsonville, Michigan. The guy that bought it, it was his playtoy. It was never driven in the winter. He put the 440 in it with the full manual automatic and quarter stick shifter. He also installed the lift kit. We are planning on cleaning it up, and fine-tuning it. Then I'd like to add the D-60 front and D-70 rear with Dana power locks. I'd like to use it for the streets and beaches. My other truck is dying a slow death. I'm leaving pieces of rust along my trail. Notice how I didn't give you any profiles of the 85? I'll post pictures of the 88" motor soon!

Thanks guys . I'll try to get some more shots up this weekend. The 440 is so much fun. I want to get the dash back in this weekend & then I'll post some pics of the gages. This is one shot during the installation.

Here are a couple shots under the hood. It needs a good dress up. I haven't had any time to work on it this weekend. We’re into a complete kitchen redesign & remodel at the in-laws.

What is a fofo T . No it doesn’t have a body lift. I'll get some pics of the Motor mounts for you in a couple of days. Yes my valve covers are close. I hope my new Mopar valve covers fit? I'll have to pull the booster to remove the MT covers. Probably in about 6 weeks I’m going to pull the valve covers to look into a lifter tick. It developed it one cold morning when I took it down to the shop . At that point I’ll put my new covers on, maybe glass bead the intake & clear coat it. I don't have a part # for my booster but I’ll look it over. I assumed it was a big block booster out of a RC or pick up. Thanks for the kind words.

ebonics 440 = fofoT i got the same problem about having to remove the booster to get the covers off. price you gotta pay i guess. that's why i inquired about robbins18's brake set up in his thread. your engine just looked lower in the frame than mine did,why i asked about the booster and mounts.

Yes a fofoT . You know it's hard to drive the 85 with the built 318 after the big block. I took some pics of the motor mounts & the booster to valve cover clearance.

It's hard to get a good pic but here is 2 from the bottom. It's a Ramsey model # rep 8000. It looks like they used the forward cross member and a fabricated front section to mount it.

I took an afternoon off & worked on the 88 . I got the map light repaired with help from the how to section ( Thanks ). Also got the new dash bezel installed (new to me). Looks so much better with the wood grain dash now. Finished Hooking up some of the gauges on the pillar.

Lot of stuff going on(wedding, honeymoon, Yes..MOAB and house stuff). I still managed to have time to dig into the ticking lifter problem. The adjusting stud and nut snapped off, allowing the cup portion to screw up into the rocker. Luckily, crane warranted all new studs and lock nuts. I did have to purchase one rocker though. While I was working on it, I decided to clean up the engine some. I removed all accessory brackets, glass beaded, primed and painted. Reinstalling everything, I decided to use stainless steel fasteners. I'll include a few pics. I'm playing with this b/c I cooked the trany. We now have a vibration coming from the transmission and the fluid smells burnt. Money is tight so I am doing the cheap stuff. When money gets better, I want to get a TCI transmission .

A few more goodies. It feels so good to get a chance to work on the 88. I should be able to get the power steering lines this week. Maybe the AC next week.

You know the more you do, the worst seems to really stand out. I have to draw the line somewere because everything is connected! But I'm looking into the Mopar performance unit that matches the valve covers

Just got this one off EBay. It's a 1988 RC with about 98,000 miles.360 4 barrel, 727 auto, cruse, air , tilt wheel, CD player. It looks like it's only a few years old . My wife & her best friend flew down to Kentucky & drove it home (about 950 miles) THANK YOU. It's time to send the 85 off to a decent burial.

That gold one is siiiiiiiiiiiiiick. wonderful shape. I hope to get mine looking like that some day... I need to get a new motor for mine though, her 318 is tired lol.
nice trucks!
Where'd you get that white-faced RPM gauge? Does it light up red? Do they make oil pressure and volt meter ones also(smaller face, not the monster of an oil pressure gauge you got)? I want ot replace the 3 I have with white faced, red illumiated ones, partly cuz my RPM's bulb is dead.
Again, nice trucks!

Thanks The gauges are AUTO METER.Pro Comp. Ultra-lite The ones in the pillar pods are only 2 3/16" in diameter. The tack is 5" in dia. I did get the red LEDs for the gauges and It does look cool
