The body tub was undercoated w/a urethane bed liner. After paint & body, I'll have the floor of the interior done as well. Sorry the pics aren't that good; I used my cell because I forgot the camera.

Headers came in. They're Hooker Super Comps w/1 7/8" primaries & 3" collectors. I wanted 2" primaries, but haven't been able to find any for a BB Dodge truck. Mufflers are in also; 3" inlets & outlets.

Removed pic 12/2/07 since they did not fit...

Hella sweet - super nice man.  Are you going to do a roller cam and rockers profile?  If you have the opportunity, have your machinist check the valve stem height across the board on the heads...just to be sure thay are all the same.  I've been hearing rumors...not bad but maybe some dissimilar clearance issues....and nothing that can't be corrected/perfected.

Thanks for the props  Smiley

Yes, everything will be clearanced. I have to replace the valve springs that came w/the Eddy heads, since they have a seat pressure of 120lbs, and the cam requires 130. If they fit, I'm going w/the springs that are on my stock heads. The shop should know soon.

I ordered them from Jegs.
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_202456_-1

They are not specifically for a Dodge truck, though, so not 100% sure that they will fit. A very reliable source, said they would... someone w/vast exhaust experience, that lives in S TX, and is a TX Chapter member.  Roll Eyes

I should know for sure w/in a week. If they don't fit, I will have to have custom headers made. I'm not going w/dinky 1 & 3/4" headers on a BB!

Are you going to run a roller cam? The crane adjustable roller rockers seem to work pretty good in mine. With them you can archly dial in each valve by its self. Yes I have hydraulic lifters for now, next will be roller lifters with a gear drive Wink

LOL, I got the fiberglass hood, front fenders, ARP head studs & new tail lights in today. I wasn't going to unbox any of it, so it would stay protected until I get it to the bodyshop. Didn't think you guys would want pics of big boxes.  Grin

I'll be making a trip to Pipe Creek this weekend, and will get some more pics to post then.

Headers don't fit.  Sad

I'm sending them back Monday. I guess I'll contact some of the other makers to see if any of them have 1 7/8 or 2" primaries & 3" collectors. I found websites for Stan's, Magnumforce, & Schoenfeld, but they don't have all their specs listed.

If none of the custom companies have them, I'll have to settle for some 1 3/4" Hedman Elites. At least they have 3" collectors.

The Hooker headers went back today, and I ordered a set of Stan's headers. They look like they are well made, and still have 1 & 3/4" primaries.

Also found some really cool urethane motor & tranny mounts. I did a lot of looking before being turned onto Schumacher Creative Services. It seems no one else makes BB truck motor mounts in urethane except them (that I've found). Cool design for higher HP too.

Damn, I just ordered a set of Stan's! I would have been all over that deal. All well, I need them here by Thursday, so James can weld up the complete exhaust before he mounts the body back to the frame. I wish I would have known a couple of weeks ago. I would have had you do them in a second.

I appreciate you offering.  Smiley

Those might be a little big. I found a couple of places that had 2" flanges, though. I've checked with several shops that make custom headers in San Antonio and Austin, and they wanted a fortune to weld them up. If I'd known you did them, I would have been all over it. Now I'm in a little bit of a crunch to get them in.

Also found some really cool urethane motor & tranny mounts. I did a lot of looking before being turned onto Schumacher Creative Services. It seems no one else makes BB truck motor mounts in urethane except them (that I've found). Cool design for higher HP too.

Are the BB mounts different than for a SB?

Yes, I think they are. It's kind of funny, that several members didn't like the pricing of Johnny's mounts. I had to pay $150 for my pair! They are a little more high tech, though, with the Poly-loc set up. I'm hoping to avoid a torque strap with these. I've torn two sets of motor mounts in less than 7k miles. The last set we just took off were torn on the driver's & passenger sides. With 70-80 more hp than the current build, the stock motor mounts will definately not hold up.

I went with Jonny Spiva's mounts for the 440 I'm putting together.  They have the interlocking tabs that will keep them in place if they tear.  I didn't go with the poly locks because I heard from some car guys that they are too much like solid mounts, with little to no flex.

Kendall, I found out today that the big & small block truck motor mounts are the same.

Stan's headers didn't fit either. The passenger side was ok, but the first tube on the driver's side hit the motor mount. Almost like the jig was made from an RB block. If the block deck was 1/2" higher, it would have been ok.

I'll make due with what I have for now, and get Brian (Bent&twisted) to weld me up some REAL headers after everything is done.

Things are really crankin. Hope to have some progress pics posted Thanksgiving weekend.  Smiley

Nothing like a nice fat exhaust to help your BB breath! James finished out the mandrel bent 3" pipes from the headers back. The collectors were pretty cool too; 3" bell-type with no gaskets.

i have a set of headmans on my 440 like that.. work great, but mine came with corse thread bolts, swap them out with fine threads & threadlocker & you'll never have a problem with them backing loose like I did...

then we couldn't give you shit.......Trust me, I have been there, with the front detroit possibly being shot, I will have to let mine sit for a while till I can get a spool, new front carrier to weld, or get around to fixing the detroit.

having no money sucks...

But that is why I got the sammy, so I can still wheel for cheap while saving money to fix the Trailduster.

Spent most of Saturday at Brutal Off-Road. James did most of the work, but I helped a little  Roll Eyes . We got the body mounted back on the frame, stripped the exterior molding, and the doors stripped of everything but the glass. It goes to Honey Creek Paint & Body this coming Saturday.  Smiley
