i found an 85 toyota out side of town
the guy said the putter was out and alot of other shit was wrong with it
i bought it expecting the wrorst but just the fuel pump was out and the tank was full of rust
it was sitting to 6 yrs and the guy didnt know what was wrong with it
after getting it running we rolled it so i cut the top doors and hood off of it and started the cage
these are the pics from the begaining to now
keep in mind i just started on the cage

Are you running a modded suspension?  If not looks like you could run bigger tires without modding the suspension and still not have clearance issues...definitely looks like something I would duplicate if I ever found a thrashed but mechanically sound toy...

it has a 3 in lift and 3in body lift
i think im staying with 33s for a while atleast till i get 5:29s
well the trany is fucked
revirce went out in the middel of a mud hole
does anyone have a trany for a toyota for sale
the steering turns good one way and not worth a shit the other way
and im going to have to get tires gears hydro steer more pipe and a trany before its ready
but im happy this truck runns and performed pretty good

That cage is pretty narly looking. What kinda tube bender did you use? Or did you use a harbor freight pipe bender? The reason i ask is because i want to build a exo cage for my truck. Also what size pipe is that?

Thanks for the info, think you could post some picks of your mods on the pipe bender. Mad Max has also done some mods on his in the fabrication board. Im trying to get idea of how to build my cage

Looks great and you have done a very lot of work on this project!!  But I don't see any gussets or cross bracing ( X pattern ) in your roll cage. I see that allot of your friends have done allot of roll cages, have they not needed X bracing in their roll cages or gusseting? puttputt56!! Huh

I HAVNT BEEN ONLINE IN A WHILE CAUSE OF WORK AND I FORGOT THIS PASSWORD LOL . I ENDED UP NOT RUNNING THE TOYOTA MOTOR CAUSE THERES NO WAY TO GET THE POWER I NEEDED TO DO WHAT I WANTED TO DO SO I BOUGHT A 383 STROKER TH350 AND NP205 FOR IT . ALLSO THE DASH COUGHT FIRE SO I TOOK THE BODY OUT OF THE CAGE . I HAVNT GOT A CHANCE TO WORK ON IT IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS CAUSE I BLEW ANOTHER MOTOR IN THE DULLIE SO I BOUGHT ANOTHER 4RUNNER AND ITS BEEN TAKEN UP MOST OF MY TIME TO GET IT RUNNING . HERE ARE THE PICS
