He'll make a lot more money than the corn would have brought in. In the fall, for a popular Halloween activity, farmers are cutting a maze in their cornfields for people to pay to wander around in, often along side of the pumpkin patch, to buy a pumpkin.  It's amazing what people will pay to do when you tell them it's the thing to do.

Yep.  Seems every year there's one or two more of those mazes within reasonable driving distance from my house.  One place near town also has "punkin' chunkin' " available.

Not if he chopped them for corn silage...that requires green stalks and ears that are beginning to lose moisture.  Corn mazes are usually cut in leftover sweet corn patches or fields that are going to be harvested for shell corn...that can be left on a dry stalk for awhile, so it can stand until after halloween.
