I NEVER CLAIMED TO BE ANYTHING BUT KNUTTS!

« on: July 17, 2010, 07:06:40 PM »

OK, so my Dad needed to haul 20' long sheets of steel siding/roofing to the hills today. He called yesterday and asked to use my trailer. No problem but it's not inspected. Crap I can't take the turnpike or I'll get nailed for that and my truck won't pull the hills on the back roads.

So we traded trucks and trailers. I got his F-150 and 16' trailer to haul a car yesterday and he took my CTD and 20' trailer to load and haul the steel.

There was around 2ton of steel on the trailer. and it was a 2 hr drive.

Well the truck did great. (no surprise to me) BUT he says when I asked how the truck did. "I have got to get me one of these."  Grin

Said he got stuck behind a biker doing 40mph in a 55 at the bottom of a long steep hill and was just a tad upset when 1/4 of the way up the hill the biker cranked on it and left him behind to "in Dad's mind" PUTT the rest of the 3/4 of hill left.

Much to his surprise when he stepped on the throttle the truck actually started going faster till his was up on the biker's butt again.  Tongue He said his truck would have been doing 35mph up that hill by 1/2 even at 55 at the bottom.   Undecided

So he is now in the market for an 89-93 standard/club cab CTD and it can be a D250 for all he cares.  Grin
