Need to send no money, i do need one piece to send them yet. The piece that goes between the winshield and the roof/hard top. Only piece i didnt have to send them.
Are you referring to the 2 corner seals or the center seal? Olly

Did they give you any idea on price? Or at least a range so I can save my pennies? Will it be a kit.

Sorry nothing on price, i dont think its going to be to bad tho, ( had stuff made there before the workmanship was great and the price was good) you can buy it as a complete kit or pieces. Kit will cost a little less then buying every piece by its self.

Paul,
Greatly appreciate you even going through this trouble of looking into the kit, but if this is what it's like trying to get at the very least a quote, I can't even imagine what it would be like if we needed to order through him or something went wrong with the shipment.

Buying/ordering is not bad, and returning/shipping/if theres a prob with the part is no prob either i delt with them lots before, ( they put year one to shame when it comes down to parts with a prob and getting it resolved).... The guy that im dealing with dose all the new parts runs. I think he thought i was full of it that these parts where not worth while makeing untill i told him again today how much intrest is in the parts hes makeing (thanks to u all) Hes busy with lots of stuff on his plate. Its a bigger company, i`ll give you guys the name when he gets them up and running i just don`t want everyone and there brother calling him.

He should at least have a ball park price. When I was looking into remaking truck bed sides the stamping company in Akron ohio. Told me a quote 80K for the die and a 100 units at a cost of 300 per panel. The more that was made the less expensive it was. most places do a minimum order. This shooting in the dark thing is wild. No matter how good the part is if its to expensive then most people who need it cant buy it. Then they will think your full of shit for the way you were promoting all of our requests. And thanks for being the go to guy on this. You doing best top re-man's next Hint Hint. lol

That's all I was saying. He hasn't even given you a slight hint about how much this is going to cost, yet you've been telling him you've got X amount of people definitely interested. What happens when he reveals that it's going to be 800 bucks for a set?

I`ll call monday again to see if he has a idea....
I dont think these are going to be stampings so no expensive die needed.
And i did say (((( intrested )))) i didnt say the people will buy them no matter what or what the cost.
He all ready started to make them before i even started this post on here!!!!!! Thanks Paul
Paul- Again, I just want to be clear, I'm not ragging on you at all. It's always awesome when one of our members sees a niche and fills it, be it them doing the work or getting in contact with someone who can. Those seals have always been asked about and no one ever comes up with a real positive solution. So thanks for the leg work. I'm just being my usual cynical self and asking why he can't even get you some sort of ballpark figure. Even if he told you 80 for the set and it came out to be 120, at least you've got a starting point.

How much are people willing to put down? That is an equally important question. I'm sure everybody would jump if they only cost $50....how high would you jump if they were $150? $250? $400?

I've seen NOS sets on eBay sell for $400-750. In fact, I bid on a set up to $400 last year and was outbid. And those are 30 + year old kits.
I'm in for a set if they are close to the factory extrusions. I don't care if they are $400 if they include center roof to windshield, corner blocks, door pieces, bed side gaskets and liftgate gaskets. For $325 I might get two sets to have a spare.
Thanks for the legwork, and keep us posted!

Thanks Paul. I appreciate everything your doing. It seems impossible to get anyone to re-pop items for non A,B, and E body vehicles.
As far as one wants to spend, depends on how often u drive ur RC or TD and how much you want to put want to put up with ur 30-36 year old weatherstripping.
If your ok with leaks, rattles, and wind noise then your prolly not to interested in new weatherstripping.
I drive mine daily and I hate all the above. I want to do my best to tame or eliminate them as much as possible..........

Got to call him back tomorrow, sorry for the delay, i worked to late and cant call him while im at work.
The items im getting made are the following. (this prob be the kit) 1 front piece above the windshield between the roof and winshield ( thanks to a fellow member) 1 of ((each)) side rail to roof seals (drivers and pass Side) 1 the piece that goes around the tailgate 1 the piece that goes around the lift gate 1 the long straight piece that goes under the tailgate ( L shaped )
So thats 5 pieces, 4 of which are copied of my all most perfect 74 pieces (i compared them to my 80 and saw no diff) except the piece that goes between the windshield and the roof that was from a 75 and latter.
This set will fit 75 to 80, i will check the main diff on my 74 and see what i will have to send him when i get my set.

I thought the other guy sent it and he thought i did. I`m going to take measurement of my 74 i know its not the same so i need photos and measurement of a 75 to 80. Send it to mopartillidie@yahoo.com... ASAP please. Thanks Paul
