I've been waiting 17 years for these so a little more will be worth it. I wanted to add my 2 cents on how awesome this will be if it comes together and give you a lot of appreciation for working so hard and long on getting it right.

You have had a RC since you were 16? That is awsome ...and she's not giving up her virginity till she gets those RUBBERS!!!! Hmmmmm, which leads ever-so-naturally into my next Q - Sam, why have you done absolutely NOTHING to encourage the women on the site to do a calendar...or create some other medium by which they could show off their nekkidness? a "Nekkid Chicks of RCC" video would be cool....you'd just have to put someone with a discerning eye in charge to make sure Rory didn't show up in drag...again....

Your first post in 9 months and it is this crap? Sam was nice enough to lift the ban on all previously banned members. However, the re-entrance for some people came with a rather short leash. Consider this your first and, as far as I am concerned, only warning. The rules haven't changed in the time you have been gone. Follow them, or be gone. Eric

Still no seals? Well I guess I'll have to wait until next winter. Just had the top rhino lined and it's going back on today. Can't wait any longer. If you do get them done I still would like a set. Maybe you can work on getting a soft top made next. I'd be buying one of those also.

I have made a set of temps out of a Sears black rubber garden hose. I ran the hose over with the lawn mower by mistake. Being a thrifty Scottish tinker, I looked at chopped up hose and found a second use for them. At least I can put the pop top back on untill these proper gaskets materialize.

Well, at least the thread is still fresh... Now if this just pans out, rather than turning out to be a chain-pulling contest... Would definitely be interested in a set of top gaskets myself. I've got mass rust repair to do on my roof... Oh, wait, make that replacing the rust WITH a roof! Out of curiosity, does anyone happen to know how thick the uncompressed seals are? It just occured to me recently that the buckled roof on my '77 is probably from the rotten bed gaskets dropping the rear down and causing the windshield frame to push up on the rust that's masquerading as the front of my roof! Need to be able to reattach the thing before I take it off to fix the cancer on the windshield frame. -D

This may not belong here, but I am new to this site and most message boards. I have always wanted to convert my ramchargers "crappy" lift gate to either van doors or a 2 piece gate. I just saw that the Trailduster has the set up I would like. Can anyone tell me if either option would be possible. I would really like a set of van doors, that would be awesome.
My hatch is fiberglass, I wonder if I could cut it.
I am new to all this, my first project truck and no experience. Got to learn somewhere and on something. I can always get a junk yard gate and practice.
I would greatly appreciate any tips

The '74-'80 "Poptop" Ramchargers and Traildusters had a seperate tailgate and hatch due to the roof being removable. The later hardtop Ramchargers only had the fiberglass liftgate. There have been a few people who have cut the liftgate down and fitted a pick tailgate on the bottom and fabricated some sort of latch for the hatch. The problems with this are the lack of any provisions for tailgate hinges, straps and latches and the top of the tailgate's shape does not match the bodylines of the Ramcharger body. So there is no easy way to make it a split gate and to my knowledge no one has ever tried to split it vertically and make dual doors on the rear. I imaging that would take a lot more work as there are no parts that could be retrofitted to make them so it would all have to be done from scratch. I personally prefer the single liftgate design as it seals solid and secure.

I completely understand the anticipation and subsequent frustration, but with such a limited aftermarket, for our trucks i personally don't think deleting the sticky and saying to hell with it is the answer. lets keep showing support. I'm sure part of convincing these companys that there is a demand for such items is giving them the link here so they can see for them selves. David

Sorry. I have been following this thread and wondered if it was going to happen. I have all the rubber seals except the Ramcharger tail gate seal. I need one bad so I can finish my truck and seal up the tail gate.
