UGH!  I was fixing the rust under the rain channel above the windshield and while I was waiting for the filler to set up so I could sand and paint it I decided I'd fire the truck up and see if the new alternator fixed my squealing.  Well when I first fired it up it done fine.  But after blipping the throttle a few times it started squealing again to the point where it just kept squealing and I had to rush to cut the truck off.   I can't figure it out?!  I have new belts, new water pump, new alternator.  Where the hell is is this squealing coming from?  I put Gates belts on it, should I go buy another brand?  This is making me sick!

The Truck looks awesome. As far as the belt squeal goes i've had new belts do that before and i gave them a shot of belt dressing  and it smartend them up. In order to pull the dash does the window have to be out of the truck? i really  haven't looked at how to pull the dash out of mine. what did you use for a die and where did you pick it up?

Unless you want to cut into the rubber seal under the windshield, yes the windshield has to come out.

I believe the power steering pump is at fault for squealing. I'm gonna add some Lucas to it and see if it stops, if not ill swap it out with a remanufactered unit.

Ok I added the lucas to the power steering pump but didn't get a chance to run it today.

I did put the new weatherstripping in the passenger door and put the vent glass back in.

And what I done and didn't take pics off:

Finished fixing the rust under the rain channel, & I painted the wiper arms too.

I got it off of ebay,  Auto-parts.com is the seller I believe.  They are a supplier for jc whitney, cause when they came in the mail the invoice was from jc whitney.

When you replaced the water pump, you need to make sure you put the offset "wish bone" looking piece in correctly. When I worked on the engine on my w350 I was in a hurry and put it in wrong, when you do that your Power Steering pump will be kicked to one side and not perfectly lined up with the rest of the pulleys. Get on the driver side of your truck and sight the power steering pump and see if the pulley is lined up with the harmonic balance. If you have that "wish bone" in wrong the PSP will be a few degree's off line with the others.  If you can not understand what I am saying ill see if I can get some pics tomorrow before it gets dark.

I remember it having a slight squeal but it got louder when warmed up. I had replaced the water pump thinking it was the culprit.

Also I had an alternator do it.

Ill try to get home in time to get some pics of what I was talking about tomorrow, I got home kinda late today

Ok I appreciate it.

I did manage to get some work today before I went to work.

I got the doors put back together minus the lock knob on the passenger side that misplaced.  I'm going to go to the junkyard tomorrow and get another one and see if there any other parts that peek my interest.

Here is some pics of mine. Excuse the dirty engine  Roll Eyes

Pic of the PS wishbone from the top down

here is one from the driver side

to the left of the date marker on the pic is the PS bracket , Notice the fat part of the wishbone is to the top. It acts as the spacer for the material thickness of the PS. If you need any more pics let me know Grin

Thanks I got them from Autopartwarehouse.com.

I started putting the interior back into it today.

Hopefully I'll have the dash back in either tomorrow or this weekend, and hopefully the carpet will be here soon.  I ordered the windshield seal and lock trim today too.

I got some good news! I went to the junk yard today to get some seat belt bolts and I came across 2 92 ram le trucks . I picked up a whole set of interior trim for $35! One of the trucks was a 250 with the 8 lug axles and a 360 magnum. They wanted 800 for the axles didnt get a chance to price anything else on it. My buddy is trying to find me a headliner now since they were gone out of both trucks.

OK I have a little update for you guys. I got the dash back in the truck and started reassembling it. I got the radio, dash speakers, headlight, heater, and wiper switches back in. All that is left for the dash is the ash tray, glove box, gauges, and the bezel I'm waiting for from a member on here.

Other then that, all that is left is carpet, put the seats back in, windshield, off-road lights, bedliner, window tint, & exhaust. If I can find a headliner, that and the rest of the le trim will be added to the to do list.
