Title: Bird Bath Hood

Weak link: 72 to 79 owners know all about this waterfall problem when you open the hood and it dumps a half gallon of water on the distributor.

Strong Fix: There are two ways to fix it -

1.  An 8 x 12 piece of flexible rubber sheet screwed to the air cleaner lid so it hangs down behind the distributor. This is the easiest to remove to gain distributor access.

2.  A 6 x 8 piece of flexible rubber sheet screwed to the firewall just above the distributor and hangs down over the top and towards the carb. Use this method if you have a chrome air cleaner.

If you have a 435 manual tranny, be aware water will run down into the clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate, making it to all rust together if sitting.

Make sure you run either a thick bead of silicon between the motor and bell housing, or run the rubber flap past the top opening on the bellhousing .
